Disbudding Information:

Disbudding is the best and most effective method for preventing horn development in goats. The ideal age for disbudding depends on breed and sex, but is generally between 1 to 2 weeks of age- before the horn bud hardens. Performing the procedure early helps reduce complications, as it prevents exposure of the sinus during and after the procedure. We use a hot iron method for safe and efficient disbudding.
